This part can also be check with an ohm meter. If the CDI doesn’t seem to be the issue, the next easiest part to replace would be the ignition coil. Order the CDI box and replace to see if your spark returns.

    If you don’t have an ohm meter you can just use trial and error with this part. If you have no spark, the CDI, ignition coil, and stator are the three components that it could usually be. There are three components that contribute to spark.When doing the compression test, make sure you either have the carburetor disconnected from the manifold, or the throttle open. The compression should at the minimum 120psi. Check the compression of your machine with a compression tester. If you checked step #1 and step #2 and still having an issue starting your machine it could be a compression related issue.Also check to make sure there is no blockage on your air intake to keep the air/fuel mixture correct and keep the machine from flooding out. If it starts with the starting fluid, and runs for as long as the starting fluid is around then that would mean it is a fuel related issue. Another way to check if its fuel related is to spray a little starting fluid on the air filter and see if it pops off from that. If you are getting fuel to the carburetor check and see if the plug is wet.
